I work with Jared Burke, and am following up regarding Ticket #892 (https://boldminded.com/support/ticket/892)...

I updated to the latest version from Devot:ee (1.6.4), and am still seeing the same error, where the selected text reads “undefined” when using the Folder icon to link to a file. Please advise on how to fix this bug.

Thanks,
Ben.

are you using Assets? Is it an S3 or another external source? Is it in a sub folder? I need more details…

Yes, it’s the same exact site/system that Jared Burke described in Ticket #892 (we both work for the same company and are working on the same site):

  • Wyvern 1.6.4
  • Assets 2.3.2, using S3.
  • It is a PDF within a subfolder on S3.
  • When we select text and press the Folder icon and choose the PDF from S3, it replaces the text with “undefined”.

Thanks for your help!

And you are positive you cleared your cache and the new js file was uploaded?

#4

BoldMinded (Brian)

I ask bc I was able to replicate the error, made a couple changes, the it started working.

Which are the changes in 1.6.4

I’m positive. I’m running it on my local machine, and cleared the cache. What were the changes and what files/lines were they made on? I can check to make sure it’s there…

I just tried this again, can’t replicate. Created a new sub folder in an S3 bucket, linked to the file just fine. This was the main change in the wyvern.js file https://www.evernote.com/shard/s9/sh/4ed02945-db81-4635-86e3-de54ddf346d0/cd454076fb110be24eb9e49a29f904d3

If you do have that change, I’m going to need a video of you replicating the issue so I can see exactly what you are doing.

The code is correct on my local machine, but I’m still seeing the problem. Here’s a video replicating the issue: http://cl.bwilk.in/0S3M3Q3O1u0c Any suggestions?

I don’t know why that is returning undefined, but I followed the exact same thing you did locally and using the folder icon inserts the image into the editor (with an img tag), it isn’t meant to link text. Try the link button and choose File Asset instead: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s9/sh/0b2b9405-d8d0-42ed-a7db-a88dd868a6a2/e8233b0bb0962d34b3a2796b72b1ed28
