Hi Brian,
There is a new big that has appeared with the version you provided which fixed the previous Category bug on EE 7.2.17.
When you create a new entry there is no language showing default. See screenshot. It wouldn’t be so bag if it entered the entry in the default language but that is not the case it creates the entry in the last selected language.

That looks almost certainly like there is a JS error on the page. Check your JS console.

Thanks for the quick response. No java error at all in the consolve.
the only thing that prints out in the console is
JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.0.0
However, there is a publisher tab that is showing up on the entry (I’ve updated the ticket with a new image)
