Hi Brian,
We’re having an issue where our tags are not clearing when editing entries based on our Cache Clearing Rules (news, for example). But, when we manually clear the tag using Overview: Clear Tags they clear correctly.

We’ve tried quite a few approaches in the News Channel Settings under Cache Clearing Rules. All looks correct, but doesn’t work.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Greg

Hi Brian, Thanks for the quick response. Here are some additional details.

We are using static caching.

We have a News channel in the site. On the listing page for News entries we have the following at the top of our template…

{layout="_includes/_wrapper"}
{exp:speedy:static tags="news"}
...remaining template here...

In our Speedy control panel Cache Clearing Rules: News: • Refresh Items: Yes • Clear Tags: 1 - news • Clear Items: 2 - “static/”, “static/about-us/news” (we’ve tried quite a few things in here.

Again, when choosing Overview > Clear Tags > Choose Tags and clearing the “news” tag, the cache clears correctly. So I think it knows the tag is there and is working. It’s just the auto-clearing based on adding/editing/deleting an Entry is not.

Again, any insight would be helpful!

Thanks as always!

Greg

What is your speedy_break_async setting set to?

#4

Gregory Maher

I don’t believe we have speedy_break_async set, so I’m thinking it’s defaulting to “yes”?

Thanks!

Add it to your config and set it to no.

$config[‘speedy_break_async’] = ‘no’;

See what happens.

Hi Brian, Unfortunately that didn’t fix things. It introduced an error when saving an Entry.

Anything else we might be able to take a look at?

Thanks in advance!

Can you share everything about your Speedy settings? I’m a bit in the dark. What drivers are you using for example?

Hi Brian, I put login credentials into the ticket. Is that helpful?

Thanks!

There doesn’t appear to be a value in the password field

Hi Brian, Sorry for the late reply here. The last build you shared did correct the issue. All is working as expected now. Thanks for the help, and the great Add-on that is Speedy!
