Jun 06, 2014It seems that you can use the word_limit tag only in combination with(in) the text_only tag?
There is a number of situation thinkable where you would like to limit the number of words and still being able to produce HTML formatted text. It would be a waste of resources to have to install another third-party extension next to Wyvern to achieve this.

Doing a word count around HTML tags does take more processing. I wanted to keep this feature simple. Honestly I probably will not pursue a more complex version of this feature, so if you want to trim words and keep the HTML intact you’ll probably need to use another plugin. The current feature was meant to assist in creating short blurbs of text for things like search results, news list overview etc etc where you won’t want other html tags and styles interfering with the design.
