Ticket: Phase Caching issue

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version Publisher 1.2.3
Severity Trivial

I’m finding when I add new Phrases they can sometime to display on the front end. Couple of hours generally.

I’ve tried clearing my browser cache and ExpressionEngines internal cache but this makes no difference. I don’t have Publisher caching on either.

Any ways I could force the changes any quicker?

Do you have EE’s new cache turned on?

#2

Geoff Lewin

No I don’t believe I have. If I did where in the CP can this be turned off?

#3

BoldMinded (Brian)

Its in the main menu somewhere, can’t remember off hand.

#4

Geoff Lewin

No, the ee caching was not enabled.

Geoff, I tracked down the issue. Emailing you a new build.

Thanks for the new build. When I update can i just replace the old files with the new ones? Will my old entries, phrases and settings be saved? Geoff

You won’t lose any data, just replace the files.

I’ve uploaded the new files and done some tests but it doesn’t seem to have helped the caching issue.

Did you clear the current cache by deleting he files manually in the cache folder?

#10

Geoff Lewin

yer I did clear that in the cp a couple of times but had no effect.

Geoff, are you positive no other caching is in place? Is template caching turned on? Are you using CE Cache? I can’t replicate this in a 2.7 and a 2.8 environment. The caches are clearing just fine and the phrases are updating immediately (when cache is turned on or off).

Found the problem!

Though I don’t have cache enabled anywhere and I’ve cleared them in the cp, files were still getting cached to a folder on my server. I’ve cleared the files and made the folder non-writable which has fixed the problem.

Maybe a bit hacky but works for now.

Thanks very much for your help on this.
