Ticket: Multi Page Channel/Safecracker forms

I’ve been trying to get publisher working with a multi page channel form, however after going through all the pages, I end up with multiple empty fields, and only the fields from the last page are saved.

My initial form creates the entry and works fine with publisher draft status. Then on subsequent pages of the form, if I don’t add the hidden publisher status fields, the entry is saved and immediately “Open”-ed. In order to keep the publisher draft status, I need to add those hidden fields. However, this causes the issue mentioned above.

What I think is happening, is that each page of the form is saving those fields on that page as the latest Publisher Draft. So after the first page is saved, I have some custom fields. Then on the next page, those new fields are saved, but the original fields from page one, are now blank.

I just wanted to clarify that this behavior is expected and desired. If there is any other way to do multi-part forms, I’ll gladly consider it. If we have to roll back to without publishing drafts, I suppose we will. This form will be much to long to be in one page.

Thanks for the help!

Hi, AJ. I haven’t actually tested with the multi-page form, nor have I ever used safecracker as a multi-page form so I’m not even sure how its supposed to work. Is there anyway for me to get access to your site so I can see how its working? That would be quicker than me setting up a form to replicate the issue.

Yeah, I’ll have to check with the client, but I think granting you access to the dev site won’t be a problem. Probably will be following up on Monday.

Hey there,

I’ve created a SuperAdmin account for you to look around when you get a chance. Should I email it support@boldminded? Do you need FTP access as well? If you need to make some template changes, you can do so via editor in the CP. I have everything backed up.

No rush on this, as we’re going to regular (non-Publisher) channel forms for the time being.

Thanks!

Hey there,

I’ve been asked to put this functionality on the back burner, so I’ll mark this as resolved for the time being.
