Hi ya,

I am having some sort of issue that is causing me a real headache. I can load in the home page /en. The load time for page can be 10-20 seconds. If I then change to /fr, the page occasionally loads in correctly, but more often than not the server times out. Sometimes the page does load in, but it remains as /en language even though the url has changed to /fr.

Also, when the page does load in, The browser is indicating that it still has more to do. I have also noticed in the network tab of Firefox, there are two gets to {url} - I haven’t got code anywhere on my page. I’m wondering if that is an issue?

Also, if I try to navigate to the another page eg en/news then the page just doesn’t load in with the same issues as above.

I have a pretty speedy Hackintosh running Mamp and I have pimped up php and mysql. The CP loads in really quickly without an issue, it is just the front end querying that seems to be taking an age. It is at a point that I can’t even use the site at the mo.

I haven’t got a ton of entries. I am just trying to sort the homepage at the mo and the global translations etc.

Is there anything I can take a look at that might be causing this? I have been tweaking the settings and can’t seem to find anyway of improving it.

Lastly, I have read in the docs that there is development and product modes - Is there a setting for this? I can’t seem to find anything.

I’m using:
Stash
Router
Playa
Matrix
Navee
Low Vars for global /en stuff which is not translated
Text fields

All languages have a translation.

Hi, Toby. Can you share some URLs to where I can see this occurring? Also, have you turned on template debugging and the output profiler? Set them so non-admin’s can see the output so I can see what its doing.

Have you tried removing some of those add-ons from the mix, specifically Router and maybe Stash? Take all the template code from one of the slow pages except for anything using a 3rd party add-on aside from Publisher and move it to a bare bones test page and see what the performance is like.

Ah - All day and I have found the issue. I had an SEO addon called Surgeeo in. I removed it and the tags on the home page. I removed the rest of the tags through out the site and it seems to have solved the issue. Phew.

Thanks very much for the support Brian. I need a big beer!
