Ticket: Ignored fields don’t get synced between published and draft

I don’t know if it has to be like that, but I don’t think it has to be this way.
When you set a fieldtype to be ignored by Publisher (e.g. channel images field), the content of that field doesn’t get synced to the latest draft version when the entry is published.

I’ll have to think about this one, but “ignored” means it always uses the open/published version of the content, regardless of what is saved in the draft. If that field is affected by the draft content, then its essentially not ignored anymore. Unless ignored is changed to mean its always the default language, and can be updated with draft content.

Bart, a little more background on this. Ignored fields were added to account for things like product inventory where it can’t be translated and shouldn’t really need to change or have a draft status. But on the other hand you can use an ignored field to save a sort value, and maybe you want to change the sort in the draft. So yeah, I’m not really sure what the best compromise is on this.

Bart, 1.0.15 has a lot of improvements for ignored fields, so closing this for now. If this persists just open a new ticket, thanks!
