I have this channel set to ‘ignore’ in the publisher settings - but this error appears when submitting a safecracker entry.

Lee, I’m unable to replicate this. You’re using 0.98.8, right? I tried a Zoo Visitor form and a normal Safecracker form on 2 different channels, both ignored at the time I submitted the form.
