All add-ons currently require PHP 7.4 or greater.

On July 4th 2024 PHP 8.2 will be the new minimum requirement for all add-ons. Expect any add-on released after that date to require 8.2 or greater. Some releases may not immediately take advantage of 8.x specific features in PHP, which means you might, be able to continue using new releases in PHP 7.4, however, if you experience an error the first thing you should do is update to PHP 8.2 then create a support ticket if the error persists.

Publisher does not support the Fluid field type. Please do not contact asking when support will be available.

Hi Brian,
We have a request from our customer for Publisher Lite.
Once an item is saved for approval, people in the approval role will be given the option to ‘Approve Draft & Publish’ (plus some additional options). However, the Save option disappears. They also want to keep the Save option because they want the option to save their edits, but without publishing the entry yet.
Can you add that?
Regards, Harold

Hi, Harold. Please provide screenshots or a video of what you’re requesting. My initial reaction, if I’m understanding this correctly, is that you can do this by changing some of Publisher’s settings. Even if an entry is submitted for approval, they should still be able to edit it again and re-save it.

Unless there is a clear bug in play here (which is why I need the screenshots or video illustrating the issue), I won’t be making any changes to how the approval process works as it would affect everyone using Publisher. There are extension hooks in Publisher’s codebase that lets you modify the buttons and save process a bit if you wan tot customize it for your needs.

Hoi Brian, I get it when you say ‘it affects everyone’ but maybe an extra option in the pulldown that does a simple save and does not change the status would serve everyone. Best regards, Harold

I took a look at this and I think this is more of a bug than a FR. The button’s worked as they should, but they were just not labeled correctly when the page initially loaded. If an entry is in draft state, and needs approval, the button should say “Save…”, not “Approve…”

When the page is first loaded you should see something like this, when it defaults to showing the draft. Approvers can save the entry without making it live b/c it’s still being saved as a draft. Again, this doesn’t change any functionality you’re currently experiencing, the buttons are just labeled correctly now.

When the save status is changed to Open, then the buttons are labeled as Approve
