All add-ons currently require PHP 7.4 or greater.

On July 4th 2024 PHP 8.2 will be the new minimum requirement for all add-ons. Expect any add-on released after that date to require 8.2 or greater. Some releases may not immediately take advantage of 8.x specific features in PHP, which means you might, be able to continue using new releases in PHP 7.4, however, if you experience an error the first thing you should do is update to PHP 8.2 then create a support ticket if the error persists.

Ticket: XML feeds not parsing

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version DataGrab 5.1.0
Severity
EE Version 6.4.2

Despite lots of familiarity with DataGrab, historically I’ve done far more with CSV.

That said, the feed(s) below are both coming back as “Cannot parse the XML from file/url.”

https://www.joc.com/rssfeed/8883

https://www.joc.com/rssfeed/8890

Both feeds validate using 3rd party syntax checker.

Yet, a 3rd one seems to work.

It’s not clear what is “good” about the 3rd one and bad about the first 2.

I feel like I should know how to resolve this..but I gave it the initial 5 minute attempt before this ticket. =)

Well, when I go directly to the feed URL in Safari I get this. So… mime type or something is off with the file? 99.9999% of the time if it can’t parse an XML file, it’s not a DataGrab issue… either it can’t read the file (htaccess basic auth), a redirect is happening, or something is preventing DG from reading it.

Are you using Coilpack? I think I’m having issues reading files when Coilpack is installed, but not without Coilpack.
