All add-ons currently require PHP 7.4 or greater.

On July 4th 2024 PHP 8.2 will be the new minimum requirement for all add-ons. Expect any add-on released after that date to require 8.2 or greater. Some releases may not immediately take advantage of 8.x specific features in PHP, which means you might, be able to continue using new releases in PHP 7.4, however, if you experience an error the first thing you should do is update to PHP 8.2 then create a support ticket if the error persists.

Ticket: Import Does Nothing

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version DataGrab 4.2.1
Severity
EE Version 7.2.8

I had an old version of ExpressionEngine (2) and an old version of Datagrab (2.1.0) that I use once a year for a specific annual project. It has worked for me for what I need (if it ain’t broke…), until this week when my server host made it so EE2 would no longer run (it worked last week, but this week it is dead). So this week I installed a clean version of EE 7.2.8 with a clean database and purchased a new license of Datagrab (4.2.1). I recreated my fields and channel. I configured an import just as I’ve done for years. I saved it.

I click “start import” and the status bar just sits. No content. No progress bar. No text. No error messages. Log shows nothing suspect. I inspected the progress bar and it shows a blank iframe. I tried to use the import URL and it immediately refreshes to say the import is complete, but when I check my channel entries it is totally blank. There should be around 700 entries.

Hi Jessica. Im going to need a _lot_more info… screenshots of your import settings screens would be helpful so I know what is going on. What type of import? Local file or remote etc.

I assume by log you’re referring to the DataGrab-import.log file? Can you share the contents of the log file?

Jessica, did you try to just re-configure the import? I’m assuming you upgraded DataGrab and it didn’t work? I’m still interested in seeing your settings, but generally people haven’t had issues where nothing happens with the import after upgrading.

Thanks for the log. I still really need to see how the import is configured. Screenshots would be helpful. Thanks.
