Ticket: not all content has migrated to publisher tables

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version Publisher Lite 2.8.2
Severity

hey guys, we’ve installed publisher 2 lite and during the content migration only a handfull of channel entries were migrated to exp_publisher_titles table.
we use bloqs, structure and assets add-ons as well.
it works fine when an entry is resaved.
but I can’t imagine resaving thousands of entries.
the problem we have is related content, we can’t add related content as those entries don’t exists in the exp_publisher_titles table until resaved.
have you run into this issue before?
can i run the migration again and debug it?

cheers,
Mark

Hi, Mark. I have seen this happen but only when using MySQL 5.6/7 and its running in strict mode, and the content importing didn’t match the column type, however, I thought I resolved these issues recently. Did you get any error messages while importing? Did you proceed to step 2 of the import? The initial Publisher install only imports up to 50 entries, then you have to go to step 2 to batch import the rest. How many rows do you see in your exp_publisher_titles table? After the initial install completes you should see an alert message come up pointing you to step 2.

Hey Brian

Nope I didn’t see any errors and definitely went through the second step (it said there are around 2500 entries to be imported) The table exp_publisher_titles has only about 100 rows in there, our exp_channel_titles table has around 2600 entries. Is there a chance to re-run the migration and see if that helps? We’re still in staging environment, just trying to polish things out before deploying to production. And yes, we’re running MySQL 5.6.10

Cheers, Mark

Does it stop at exactly 100? If so what content is in the 101st entry that may be causing problems? Did you check your PHP error log? Try running the update again from your db backup before you installed the first time, see if this is repeatable or if it was just a fluke.
