Ticket: Save and Preview - does not work regularly and process is very slow

Description:  We installed publisher lite 2.7.3 and during our testing of Save/Preview feature, we find that it works very inconsistently. It works on first save/preview, but later revisions of work do not trigger preview function. The work gets saved, but the preview is a critical feature for content team to view it before publishing it.  Users have correct permissions on the site. The settings for the site are enabled for Publish preview - “Yes” . Is there any specific settings for preview templates settings.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue:
1. Goto Beta site, Structure, Edit any page
2. Save and Preview ( Works only on first time)
3. Nothing happens on the page - Work is saved, but preview functionality does not trigger at times.
4. Save takes a long time - Any specific settings that may be causing an issue here.

We already provided you access to FTP server through Tunnel7 to help with another defect. Let us know if you need this information again.

Have you added the status parameter to your entries tags? See the very bottom of this page: http://docs.boldminded.com/publisher/drafts-workflow

Are you seeing an JS errors? What does “not work” mean? Does the modal not open? Does it open with a blank page? If it opens with a blank page did you inspect that page to see if there are any network errors? If it opens and the page isn’t blank, what does it show?

Also any FTP you provided before has been deleted from my database.

I tried editing the “Company Overview” entry and it did not show the preview, and no JS errors. I’ll probably need FTP access again to figure this one out.

Have you tried installing Publisher and Structure in a new/clean EE environment to see if it does the same thing?

One of them will be 38.126.164.226. I’ll get the other later tonight. I still have a private key that Derek gave me to connect with. I gave him my other IP last time, so that one may still be valid. I can try connecting later tonight but I need server address and username again.

We do have CECache enabled. Do you know if this cause any of the issues on Save/Preview you may be seeing can potentially have a conflict with request caching? I can turn this off and see if it works

It shouldn’t be a problem, but its worth turning off to see.

Have you been able to create a clean EE environment with only Publisher installed to re-create the issue? If you can re-create it in a clean environment than it means the issue is likely with Publisher. If you can’t, then we know for certain its an issue with the current site.
