All add-ons currently require PHP 7.4 or greater.

On July 4th 2024 PHP 8.2 will be the new minimum requirement for all add-ons. Expect any add-on released after that date to require 8.2 or greater. Some releases may not immediately take advantage of 8.x specific features in PHP, which means you might, be able to continue using new releases in PHP 7.4, however, if you experience an error the first thing you should do is update to PHP 8.2 then create a support ticket if the error persists.

Ticket: Not able to save entries as drafts if Publisher’s drafts are disabled

Status Resolved

hi brian,

I use publisher only for the multilanguage part – the draft-section is disabled.
but now I am not able to save new entries as a draft.
they will automatically be published if I choose draft as a status.

when I disable publisher it’s possible to save entries as drafts.

regards,
matthias

If you disable drafts you shouldn’t be able to save something as a draft, because drafts are disabled. That sounds like its working as intended.

Are you disabling Publisher with its setting? If so that is only meant for quick spot checks of things, it was never meant to be a setting used to keep Publisher disabled for an extended period of time. In fact I’m going to remove that option from the next release because it causes too much confusion.

we had an own draft-status, that works normal as long as publisher is deactivated.

didn’t tell you me to disable the draft-function because it causes problems with something? I’ll take a look into my emails.

I don’t know of your last comment related really to this ticket but back to the status-question:

if we have only the DRAFT-section disabled in publisher, we cannot use our own draft-status in the default ee status-options. we can use “open” and “close” as a status but if we select “draft” while publisher’s draft option is disabled we cannot save a “native” ee-draft.

we find the draft-section in publisher a bit confusing because of the three pulldown-menus in combination with the normal status bar. therefor we used it only for the multi-language-part the last years.

Matthias, I see what you mean now. I believe I was able to replicate and fix the issue. Grab the new build in the next comment.
