Hi Brian,
I hope all is well. We are researching the feasibility of upgrading a pretty big MSM site from ExpressionEngine 2 to ExpressionEngine 3 and wanted to check in with you as Publisher is a critical piece of our installation and workflow.

We’re going to follow a process with our research including upgrading to EE 2.11.7 first.

I read the following note you posted on the Publisher page on this site:
You must upgrade to Publisher 1.7.4 by clicking the Run Module Updates button in ExpressionEngine 2 before upgrading to ExpressionEngine 3. Failure to do this will void any support tickets you may have resulting from a failed upgrade.

To start our testing we’ll need to obtain a copy of 1.7.4. How do we get a hold of that?

Once we upgrade to 2.11.7 and Publisher 1.7.4, we’ll then begin researching upgrading to EE 3.x and Publisher 2, so we’ll be purchasing a license in the coming week or two. We’re determined to get this site onto EE3 so any insight you can provide will be helpful.

Thanks and talk soon!

Greg

The upgrade of Publisher itself should be fairly easy. It just renames some columns and adds/removes some hooks. Everything else should be the same. Publisher 2 just doesn’t include all of the upgrade functions from 1.x (to ditch the legacy code and keep things cleaner), which is why you need to upgrade all the way in EE 2 first before going to EE 3.
