All add-ons currently require PHP 7.4 or greater.

On July 4th 2024 PHP 8.2 will be the new minimum requirement for all add-ons. Expect any add-on released after that date to require 8.2 or greater. Some releases may not immediately take advantage of 8.x specific features in PHP, which means you might, be able to continue using new releases in PHP 7.4, however, if you experience an error the first thing you should do is update to PHP 8.2 then create a support ticket if the error persists.

Publisher does not support the Fluid field type. Please do not contact asking when support will be available.

We are considering using Publisher Lite for workflow approval on a site that makes use of several third party fieldtypes including Blocks, which I know isn’t supported by Publisher.

I have seen in an older ticket that you can use Publisher Lite with Blocks if you set Blocks fields to ignored, but I would like to clarify how this would affect the workflow approval process?

If someone edits an entry with blocks fields in it, what happens?
If just the blocks fields were updated, will the changes just go live instantly because the field type is ignored?
If standard & blocks fields were updated, does the entry still go to draft status for approval, but the blocks field changes won’t be flagged?

I’m just trying to get my head around whether we can still make use of Publisher Lite while using Blocks fields (and possibly other field types that are not supported), or whether it would make the whole approval process fall apart?

Thanks for your time,
Janine.

The blocks fields don’t have a concept of draft or published. So whatever is posted in the blocks fields will always be considered published/live.

Yes

Yes

With all this said, Blocks support may be coming in the near future, but I can’t put a timeline on it.

Sorry for the delayed response, for some reason I’m not getting notification emails.

I’m currently working on Blocks support for EE2. Can’t promise a release date though, but it is in the works.
