Hi,

we purchased publisher lite as we only need workflow, and then also tried with full publisher, but we are having the same issue with both versions. this is latest EE (2.10.1) and latest publisher 1.6.6 on a vanilla version of EE without any other modules.

The goal is for us to see the drafts, and published entries when going to EE’s content - edit view. In summary, we want this: http://cl.ly/image/3K0S1j393e3g

However, we only see open/close status, and we do not see our draft entries. Let me just demonstrate the issue: http://cl.ly/image/3k052a0g453i

there are no JS errors, no issues, etc.
we tried all kinds of other settings, with both lite and full. If we add a new language, we do see the language options on the edit view, but still nothing about statuses/states. (again, we do not want to use the module for language, hence, we only would need lite version).

we’ve dug into the module code etc, and after several hours of not getting anywhere with this, we figured to post here.
Shouldnt this functionality be available out of the box? Isnt this the entire goal of the module, to see my drafts etc..

best
Florian

Do you have the accessory installed?

Please respond to the ticket, not the notification emails.

I’ll try to replicate the issue locally soon. Something may have been inadvertently broken in a recent release. I may not have a resolution to this until next week. Unfortunately my time is limited right now.

Maybe you can send me an older version of the module?

I’d rather not 😊 I have no idea when it may have stopped working, so I don’t want to send you a several month old version of the code that may have other issues you could run into. I’ll get it figured out.

The underlying functionality works. Its just the display of the status in that edit page that is messed up, not the actual ability to save and preview drafts.

Florian, I looked into this briefly to replicate, and the first screenshot you are showing is very very old. Its before I added detailed translation statuses, which looks like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/3jfg7s2326an2b7/Screenshot 2015-09-02 15.22.25.png?dl=0 instead of the generic “Complete” or “Incomplete” status. Regardless, both of them are non-applicable to Publisher Lite. So what you are seeing is working as intended.

If anything I just need to update the screenshot on the website to reflect the new behavior.

Hi Brian,

for us, we dont need (or want) the translation functions. that’s why we purchased Publisher Lite. But we can not get the ‘statuses’ to show up, and we can not get the different entries to show up. Maybe I am completely misunderstanding the module, but doesnt publisher create a new entry, and save it as draft? (when i check the db directly, I can see both entries inside publisher tables) and wouldnt I be able to view these two entries from CONTENT - EDIT screen? Lets take my two test entries. I created a draft version for both, but when I go to CONTENT - EDIT, i only see two entries, and both with status ‘open’. see here: http://cl.ly/image/0s0X3Y3Q3I0F

I tried the same with the full version of Publisher, and I get the same exact results for both lite and full. Also on three different installations, two with 2.9.2 and then the new vanilla test install on 2.10.1.

Since the screenshots in the documentaion are so old, maybe I need to take a step back and ask this: 1.) does publisher 1.6.6 (lite or full) show me the publish states in CONTENT - EDIT screen? 2.) does publisher 1.6.6 (lite or full) show me both the open AND the draft entry when I go to CONTENT - EDIT screen?

these are the two behaviors I am after.. I have a channel with 100+ entries, all with draft and open, .. It will be impossible for the editors to work this if they cant see the draft entries and the statuses. And I need to launch this tomorrow :(

Brian, I think we just figured it out. The functionality works, we got confused by the old screen shot. Also the different naming with the statuses probably confused us: http://cl.ly/image/3q3S0h2d1l0p lastly the missing (or not missing) background color for the rows in CONTENT - EDIT maybe.

Glad you figured it out and sorry it caused confusion. You do bring up an interesting point though. Maybe I could add status notifiers/pills next to the entry like I do for the translations so you can see if there is a draft and published version. The yellow rows are supposed to indicate that the entry has draft content that is newer than the published, e.g. a work in progress or something that needs approval.
