Ticket: Phrase names - dashes replaced by underscores

Aug 14, 2015On the manage phrase screen under phrase name it says “Single word, no spaces. Underscores and dashes allowed”.
However, if I include a dash in a phrase name, it gets replaced by an underscore on save.
Is there any way to stop this? I need to use dashes if possible, because I want to reference phrase names dynamically based on URL segments which contain dashes e.g.
{exp:publisher:translate_phrase name="tagline_{segment_1}”}
[I’m using the module tag because {tagline_{segment_1}} won’t parse.]
Thanks for your time,
Janine.

Brilliant - that build works. Many thanks for this Brian, particularly the quick turnaround on this - much appreciated.

Yeah, the 3rd version fixes something else that you probably aren’t seeing on the Entry publish page, but I saw in some quick testing.
