It depends on what the add-on does if its compatible or not. Usually the ones that need to add compatibility are ones that store data in their own database tables, not EE’s own tables. NSM Better Meta is one of those that needs its own table, so it has some extra work to do to become compatible. I haven’t used it with Publisher myself, but I’m pretty sure its not going to work because it saves data to its own table, so every time you save an entry, it will update its contents with whatever is in the entry you’re saving at the time, so you could see English meta data on an Italian page if English was the last language saved for the entry.

To be honest if I were you I’d pester Bjorn more. If its probably an easy fix on his part. I’d rather avoid patching it for him even if it does mean a small fee for me. After that I’d have to send him the changes anyway and he’d still need to implement it into the official release. If you don’t hear from him in a week or two let me know and I’ll reconsider making the fix.
