Is it possible to take the information about phrases in Publisher and export it in a format that can be imported back to another instance of Publisher?

We’ve got a version of our production site that we used to test / evaluate Publisher.

We’re very happy with Publisher and now beginning the work to migrate our site to using it, but the site evolved during the evaluation period and so the test site is not current.  But we’ve got a considerable number of translated phrases in the test build - just wondered if we have to re-enter all this information, or whether there is a way to dump out the information and import it into the newer build of the site?

Would save us some time, but no big deal if not.

Hi Gavin. Sorry, but there is not batch import/export feature. I created something like that for a very old multi-lingual module I wrote for EE that was not released and it took more time to implement than I wanted to spend on making it a core feature of Publisher. Its also not a very often asked question, so it didn’t make sense for me to bake it in. I can create a companion add-on to add this functionality, but that would need to be done as a contract project… would need a scope of work, an agreed billable rate etc. Let me know if you would like to do that. If not, the best thing I can suggest is to write a CSV file importer and put the data directly into to the database columns.

Hi again. Thanks for the speedy reply. If it had been possible to do this, it would have saved some time, but hopefully it is only something we have to do once so I think not worth paying you to automate it. I’ll get on with manually moving the data over.
