Ticket: Dashes/Hyphens Replaced by Underscores

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version
Severity Trivial
EE Version 24

Nick Benson

May 08, 2013

We’ve got quite a few snippets in our default build that have hyphens (dashes?) in their file names. With SS 1.3.5 and EE 2.6.1, the dashes are being replaced with underscores, which is breaking our templates.

For instance, the snippet file “group/entry-list.html” was being called by a template as “{snippet:group_entry-list},” which is now broken; it appears Snippet Sync wants us to use “{snippet:group_entry_list}” instead.

No production sites have been borked by this, but, it’s made our default development build pretty ugly.

There is a setting to set the separator…. its the same as the prefix. Changing it to - should change everything to - instead of underscores.

Are you saying that the separator uses whatever value’s in the “Sub-folder Suffix” field, or that there’s another (undocumented?) setting somewhere that I can change?

Again, our templates are currently formatted as {group_snippet-name}; if we cannot have hyphens and underscores in our tags, many, many of our old templates are going to be borked if we ever have to upgrade.

Yeah, the sub-folder suffix field is also used as the separator. Basically it should have never created a snippet with a name of {group_snippet-name}, that was a bug.

Fixed with a new setting. Keeping version at 1.3.5 since its just a few hours old, new file uploaded to Devot:ee.
