Ticket: Structure subnav start_from parameter

Hi,

I am using Structure to output certain parts of the navigation tree of a site in the footer using the ‘start_from’ parameter. The value for the parameter is hardcoded, but this causes it to work for only one language.

For example:

{exp:structure:nav mode='sub' start_from='/solutions' max_depth='1' show_overview='yes' rename_overview='title'}

Is it possible to use the translated URL for this parameter?

Hi, Wouter. I see what you are trying to do, but I’m not sure there is a way to do it. I may be able to add something next week to make this work though.

Have you tried to create a phrase that matches the segment you’re trying to look up?

I actually got the same idea so implemented it that way, but it isn’t the most ideal solution.

I hope your able to solve this as I will not be the only one adding pages to the site (my client will as well).

I’ve been thinking about this, and I’m not sure there is a great solution. I assume you’re trying to show the navigation on one page but you’re not in the /solutions section?

Yes, that is what I am using it for. I have parts of the tree in my footer, but not all of it (just the most important branches).

I’ll stick with the {phrase:xxx_url} approach for now.

Yeah, this parameter is so wide open, it would be impossible to figure out the translated version of something automatically. Only you are going to know what “solutions” translates to, and lets say you wanted to do a start from a 2nd or 3rd parameter, e.g. /solutions/some/page … I think the only way to do this is with a phrase :/

Actually, I think I have a way to make this work. I will email you a new build to try.

Sent you a build that should work. See this page http://boldminded.com/add-ons/publisher/third-party-add-ons/structure

0.98.5 will include a {page_uri:XX} variable that can be used as a start_from parameter
