I’m not sure if it’s possible to set the translation text on dates manually, but using {entry_date format="%d %M %Y"} on French dates is incorrectly shortening the names of months.
Some seem right juillet is shortened properly to juil, while mars is incorrectly shortened to mar and août is incorrectly shortened to aoû.

The months and days come from EE itself, not Publisher. Those are in EE’s language files somewhere.
