May 18, 2022On a particular channel, the single-column image block encounters a conflict with something image related that prevents either the page styles from loading (if the images are present), or prevents the individual block functions (opening / collapsing the bloq, deleting, duplicating) from behaving properly if the images are manually removed from the entry prior to the page loading.

Hi Brian,
There was a console error showing up on this page from tree-validation.js related to nesting, but no other server logs or EE developer errors. On the settings for that Blocks field I disabled Nesting, and it started working. Seems there may be a problem with this nesting feature? Re-enabling nesting breaks it again.

The other issue seems to be related to Assets fields inside Blocks, as my colleague mentioned in creating this thread. After he removed all the images manually from an entry, that entry was able to be loaded and works properly (presuming nesting is also turned off).

You can see below that this page is completely broken with a 500 error, but there is nothing being logged.

I haven’t had a chance to look at this yet, and might not until the end of next week or later due to the holiday. Sorry about that. I do know that Assets inside of Bloqs works fine though. I haven’t logged into your CP to take a look… can you attach screenshots or paste error message so I don’t have to login?
Is there a fieldtype that was installed at one point in time and assigned to a block, then un-installed? I’ve seen that throw a similar white screen error before b/c it can’t find the ft files it’s expecting to load.
