Ticket: Speedy clears cache on entry save on one site, but not another

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version Speedy 1.3.2
Severity
EE Version 6.1.4

Paul Larson

Nov 04, 2021

Both sites are EE 6.x (but one is newer. Both use Speedy 1.3.2. Both are Plesk, with CentOS 6, 7. Both are PHP 7.

I finally got Speedy locked, loaded and working on one site.

But in the video (next comment) you’ll see it works great on one site, and not another.

While the environments are technically different, they are extremely similar.

Any ideas of a debug line I could add to the code to make plain what barrier it is hitting for a cache reload?

If its file based caching, double check the permissions on all the cache folders. Double check and compare the clearing rules, the config.php etc. If it works on 1 server and not another, then it’s most likely a configuration issue or some other permission issue on the server.

If it works on the dev server but not prod, then its more than likely an issue with the server or configuration itself, especially if the 2 servers are not identically configured. Any number of things could be different between the two. You’re not going to like hearing me say this, but this falls outside of normal add-on support.

Did you try it without 2 instances of {url_title} in the clearing rule? E.g. local/boldminded/{url_title}-fragment?

#7

Paul Larson

Had a similar thought. I’ll try that quick!

Or just use local/{url_title}-fragment?

No dice - will move a test copy to a different server (the one where it works).

Fingers crossed!

For your comment in #8, I assume rename the key afterwards, too, in the template?

Yes

Ok - this is at least something.

Migrated the site to the same server for which Speedy is working. Side-by-Side compared everything I possibly could - they all agree. Same version and handler of PHP.

Cache still isn’t clearing.

The problem site is actually a newer EE6, and is overall way simpler in terms of add-ons. I’ll add the creds here in a bit.
