Is this happening on an existing site where you’re updating existing bloqs, or a new site where you’re creating new bloqs for the first time?

Can you provide more details… maybe even a video of this happening so I can see what you’re seeing?
What type of atoms are you trying to define for the bloq? E.g. what field types?

It’s a new site, but I’m using site files and DB from my boilerplate site install. I forgot to relink the DB on a different site in development that used the boilerplate files and DB. Tried to clear everything off, so it’s possible there’s some “junk” in the database from that.

It’s hard to attribute this to an actual bug then in that case… if it wasn’t a clean install then any number of things could have happened. Can you replicate this in a brand new, not boilerplate, install of EE?

You clicked the + sign on that first atom to add the 2nd one, but didn’t fill in any of the details of the first atom. Expand the first one and use it to create your first atom instead of clicking the + sign.

holy crap, I’m an idiot. That worked. Thank you!
Very obvious when I watch the video that I did that, but when I was doing it, I clicked that plus without even thinking.
