Hello,

Youtube api key is available and it is unrestricted. Error is thrown when I start adding a new entry into the channel in which there is only Reel field.

The error on developer console is: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()

On the EE’s Exception Caught table, the headline says (I XXX’d the key):

Error calling GET https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/search?part=id%2Csnippet&type=video&maxResults=25&q=&channelId=&key=XXXXXXXXXXX: (400) Invalid channel.

After clicking the Add Video, Reel modal shows up and it can’t list any videos from the user’s videos.

Is it related to youtube API or some settings issue on my side.

Thanks in advance for the support and regards,

Can you please share the api key you’re using in a private comment, and share screenshots or video of your Reel settings page and of you performing a search in Reel? (So I can replicate the exact search you’re performing)

Make sure the channel is not private in YT.

If there is an error in the console there should be a more detailed error message if you view the response and make sure EE’s debugging is turned up https://boldminded.com/white-screen Or check your php server logs for the error.

What is the YT user name you’re using in the Reel settings? (screenshots please)

Sorry, I missed the username in the email.

Can you still please provide an example search term you’re using to try to find videos? This is why I asked for a screenshot or video screen capture b/c it shows me exactly what you’re doing so I can replicate it locally. If I can’t replicate an error, I can’t fix it.

I’m guessing your username is invalid, or there are no public channels. The Reel code is correct in how it finds channels for a user.

I suggest trying a different username to do a test search for to see if it works for you.

Also, are you sure that username you sent me is valid? I’m suspicious that YT would allow spaces in the username.

Regarding the error on my site, apparently your display name is too long 😊 I shortened it so it would save, but you can edit it again in your profile if my shortening is not what you prefer. I’ll change the database column setting it was failing on to allow longer names, so if you want you can change it back to the original value you had.

Try the user as ProtaAltar, or whatever works when you go to youtube.com/user/[username here], in which you see the channel and videos from that user.

I’ll investigate adding a channel option instead of a username in the settings. I haven’t really had this issue come up before.
