Hi
Description:
I have upgraded to EE4

I have a problem where i had 14 menus built with NAVEE and 12 language translations

So my issue is how do i replace the NAVEE menus with translations or what is the best practice?
So for example i have a menu in my footer

<ul>
<li><a href="/">Healthy living</a></li>
<li><a href="/">What’s in food?</a></li>
</ul>

Some of my links go to templates while others go the entries

Thanks

Let me know how those builds work b/c I just fixed the Publisher NavEE extension this week to work with NavEE, but I had to add some missing hooks back. If everything seems to work OK for you I’ll send these changes to the NavEE devs so the hooks are official.

Hi Brian

Thanks

I update te navee folder with the file from your navee master zip and i intalled the publisher navee add on

No errors

But i don’t see the language translation fields for a menu item

Weird. Search the navee add-on folder for “navee_extra_form_sections” and see if the hook code is there. When its working you should see a Translations section at the bottom of the form where you’re adding/editing a nav link.

Can you please provide more info? What nav is that? You have 10+, I don’t know where to go when I login to the CP. What is your site_url set to? What type of link in NavEE is it? Page, manual, or guided?

Cameron Ross

The navee called “Top nav” and on the front end of the website its at the very top of the header. Thanks

I can’t really tell much from viewing the site and looking in the CP. Can you provide FTP info? If so it may be a couple days before I can actually login and take a look at it.

I’m editing that comment to remove the creds from the comment. Please edit the ticket and add the creds there, they’ll get removed when the ticket is resolved.

Not yet. One thing at a time. I’ll get to it this week though.

I think its working now. Fix was easy once I identified it. I did turn off your NavEE cache so I could debug changes, and you’ll need to keep the “Prefix links with site URL” setting off too.

What URL is this happening on? What entry is 443? And which nav is the link in and what is its title?

That isn’t halting or affecting the function of anything, just an update I need to make.

What do you mean keeps coming back? Have you seen this before with previous builds or is this just now happening?

I’m going to need more info on this. Can you create a reduction template, which is to say make a new template based off the one that is used when this error occurs, then remove everything except the channel:entries tag that causes this to happen. I’ve seen this error before and its difficult to trace the exact cause, so I can’t look into it until its isolated to the entries tag that is causing it, and no other tags of any sort are on the page (and preferably no html or css, just a bare bones template to cause the error). Once you have that setup tell me the url to that template so I can login and take a look at it.

Take a look at docs.boldminded.com to see if persistence on is something you want.

The language text sounds like you don’t have phrase translations for your language. If that’s not the case open a separate ticket for that with screenshots or a video of the issue. We’ve covered 3 different topics in this ticket so I’d prefer a new ticket for this.
