Description:
when i create a new phrases and leave the translation field empty, it get the default language value instead of stay empty.
I don’t know if it’s a features or a bug, i did not find where disable it, and i remember a different behaviour in past version of the plugin.
Detailed steps to reproduce the issue:
1. log in to control panel and go to publisher -> phrases
2. add a new phrase and insert only english value
3. save and check the result (all translation get the default language value)

This is a feature, otherwise if you don’t enter a translation nothing will display on the front-end when you use the phrase. It makes sense that entries may not have a translation b/c maybe the other languages don’t have the same content as the default, but it doesn’t make sense for phrases to operate that way.

i know it make sense on frontend, but on cp it was useful to see the phrases translation statuses. As i see now, after inserting only the default language, all other translation status become “green”.

I think that is a minor bug that keeps getting pushed back on my to-do list.

Closing this. Internals were changed in 2.8 to prevent this behavior.
