Ticket: Duplicate Phrases across MSM sites cannot be created

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version Publisher 2.6.4
Severity
EE Version 3.5.9

1. Create new Phrase in MSM site (9) “test:testing”
Phrase is created in exp_publisher_phrases and exp_publisher_phrase_data (although in 6 languages when only three are “assigned” to the site).

phrase:test appears correctly on site

2. Create same Phrase in different MSM site (10) “test:testing”
Original phrase (id 561) is UPDATED in exp_publisher_phrases, changing the site from 9 to 10 instead of a new Phrase (562) being created and assigned to the new MSM site. It’s almost as if it’s looking up by phrase_name and not honoring the shared phrase setting. Share phrases across MSM sites is set to No.

Additionally, but not as big of a deal, all languages appear for all phrases in all MSM sites, regardless of what is set in the Languages preference in Publisher.

I’ve manually created a few phrases and that’s holding me over for the time-being. However, we have quite a few to make in the coming week(s) so any help would be, well, helpful. =)

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Greg

That did the trick. Any thoughts on the language availability? It’s a bit odd having French as an available language in our Asia Pacific site. Not hurting anything, but just a bit confusing in the CP.

Thanks for the quick response!

And you’re welcome re: the tip!

I think the language list fix would be a bit more involved, but I see what you’re saying. I may wait to look into this one next week after the conference if you can wait?

#4

Gregory Maher

Yeah, for sure. No problem on the timing. Enjoy the conference and talk soon!

Greg, try this build https://www.dropbox.com/s/h1pjc4f996oddd2/publisher2-265-4e18a612.zip?dl=0

I took a quick peek at it and it may have been easier than I thought.

That’s much closer. But now I get a bunch of extra EN tags.

And if you revert to the code before I gave you those extra tags go away?

#8

Gregory Maher

No, they’re still there. English is available across all but one of the MSM sites. Is that helpful?

#9

BoldMinded (Brian)

Oh, so its the phrase translation edit page and this that are doing something similar. These status thing will require a different fix. I’m at the conference with nothing to do right now, so I guess I’ll take a look at it 😊

Yeah, would be nice to connect in person. Maybe next year?

Try this build. It looks like an array was not getting decoded properly so a conditional was failing. Again, I don’t have an MSM environment setup at the moment (I should really get that setup again), so this is just a guess.

Hi Brian, Unfortunately that had no effect on the language tags. Happy to give you access to the site if you’d like to use for testing. It’s a staging environment - not production.

Let me know and talk soon!

Greg, if you re-add the staging cp/ftp info I’ll login and take a look sometime this week.

#16

BoldMinded (Brian)

I got the CP info. Can you add the FTP info so I can debug it?

#17

BoldMinded (Brian)

Greg, just following up to see if you can provide the FTP info again? I know you’ve given it before but its deleted when tickets are closed for security reasons.

Greg, just checking in on this again. The FTP info you gave me isn’t working.

#21

BoldMinded (Brian)

Greg, is this OK to close? I haven’t heard back and the FTP isn’t working.

Hi Brian, Actually we’re still seeing the language issue with the labels and in the phrases/categories screens. We’ve upgrade to ExpressionEngine 3.5.12 and Publisher 2.7. I’ll resubmit FTP info.

Thanks!

Greg, I just logged into the CP and its showing that Publisher isn’t even installed?

#24

Gregory Maher

Hi Brian, Sorry about that. I updated the connection info to point at the correct site. Let me know if you still cannot reproduce.

Thanks in advance!

The fix for this was included in the 2.7.3 release.
