Ticket: Relationship Field inside Bloqs with Pubslisher

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version Bloqs 3.1.5
Severity
EE Version 3.5.11

Kevin Chatel

Sep 01, 2017

Description:
When you have a relationship field inside of bloqs you cannot search for the entry using the native relationship search function as it changes the ‘name’ attribute and causes an issue: ‘cannot insert null in child_id in exp_publisher_relationships’

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue:
1.Create a bloq with 2 relationship fields
2.create an entry with the bloq in step 1
3.search the related entry in the relationships native search field
4. relate the entry
5. save
6. error

NOTE: if you do not search, but manually scroll through the list of entries, the entry saves properly

Kevin, I’m unable to replicate this. Can you provide a video replicating the bug so I can see what you are seeing?

Is the video you shared using the newest build I just sent?

Yes happens with the new build. I’ve noticed that when you search an entry the value of the HTML is different for the returned values.

Before Searching: <label class=”choice block” data-channel-id=”8” data-channel-title=”Simple Entries” data-entry-title=”About Lead Text”> <input name=”field_id_25[blocks_new_row_1][values][col_id_10][dummy][]” value=”7” type=”radio”> About Lead Text</i> </label>

When searching: <label class=”choice block” data-channel-id=”8” data-channel-title=”Simple Entries” data-entry-title=”About Lead Text”><input name=”field_id_25[blocks_new_row_1][values][col_id_10][data][][dummy][]” value=”7” type=”radio”> About Lead Text — Simple Entries</label>

Searching produces extra code [data][] so not sure if that’s what’s breaking.

Kevin, would you mind responding directly in this ticket instead of via email? My inbox is not searchable by other customers who may have the same issue, plus its easier to keep things organized in 1 place.

Can you provide CP access so I can login and take a look?

BoldMinded (Brian)

Edit the ticket to add the CP info, don’t add it to a comment. Thanks.

Can you re-post the video url as well (mark the comment as private if you want). For some reason I can’t find it in my email anymore.

How come you’re deleting the blocks twice? Then adding a new one?

BoldMinded (Brian)

So it only happens after you delete and add a block?
