Hi Brain,

We really like Publisher (Lite) and have been working with it for a while and a couple of feature requests came up. I couldn’t find plugins for them and I thought they could fit Publisher.

- Disable entry or Notification when an entry is already opened by an other CMS Member.
- Disable entry for Editors after it’s been approved by Publisher

Would be super to have them included in Publisher.

Best,
Martijn

Thanks for the feedback.

The notification is something I’ve had requested before, but just have not had the opportunity to spend time on. It is something I’ll consider for future versions.

As for disabling the entry, do you mean once its approved, lock the entry down so no editors can ever edit the entry again? This sounds like an interesting feature, but would involve several layers of control. For example I’d need to create way for publishers to unlock the entry after it has been locked, and remember which entries have been locked. I’ll keep this in mind, but honestly I think I would need to have a few more people request this as a feature before I spent time on it. It also sounds like something that could be done as a separate add-on using Publisher’s hooks. So if you have any PHP skills you could look into making this functionality yourself.

Hi,

Yes it would be an complete lockdown for Editors and needs to be reopened by a Publisher to gain access again. An separate add-on is something we’ve thought about. Publisher is pretty deep integrated and it would fit in the approval flow.
I understand that a single request isn’t gonna do it for you. Perhaps we can discuss an other option? Let me know if I can contact you about it.

Thanks, Martijn

Harold, I’m re-reading this for the first time in awhile, and I don’t think I want to add this functionality natively. This sounds like a good opportunity for someone to develop an extension that uses Publisher’s hooks to add this additional functionality.
