Hi -

Considering a purchase of Wyvern Video for use in Matrix however the screens show a very wide footprint for the field in Matrix. I assume that’s the current status and if we want a smaller footprint, we’d have to manually tweak the module?

If that’s the case, I might suggest trying to reduce that footprint for a future update… I’m guessing anyone using that in Matrix likely has other columns and Wyvern seems to eat up alot of valuable real estate given that all it’s other interaction is in a modal.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, if you reduce the number of buttons or add a row separater so the toolbar buttons are on 2 different lines, then it will reduce the overall width.

Thanks for the prompt response… however, I’m not totally certain we’re on the same page. I’m referring to the Matrix fieldtype and in your screens I see the embedded vid, two buttons under that vid and another cell to right with the URL, description and another field. I’m not certain what toolbar buttons you’re referring to that would affect the width footprint?

Regardless, maybe we’ll try a purchase and play with it s bit and see what we can do.

Ohhh, silly me. I thought you were referring to Wyvern, not Wyvern Video. If you change the default video size it will appear smaller in the CP, but it also means you won’t be able to use the simple field tag, but instead you might have to put the iframe into your template and use the {field_name:url} value so the video shows in the template. The {field_name} tag will add the full embed to the template, but will use the width and height defined in the CP. I should make it so that tag can take some parameters, e.g. {field_name width=”400” height=200”}, but I won’t be able to get to it for a few days.

Thanks - that makes more sense. However, we went and built out own plugin. Thanks.
