Ticket: Publisher and EE Tab View

Status Resolved
Add-on / Version Publisher 2.5.1
Severity
EE Version 3.5.9

Description:

I had some problems installing publisher with EE 3.5.9 with the following occurring.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue:
1. Install EE, no problem
2. Install publisher, no problem
3. Add test channel and field group with 1 field
4. Add a new language to the publisher settings
5. Adding a new entry to my channel, the publisher tab appears on-load, but then is hidden, so no translation is possible.

** notes **

- There are no errors in the console and everything is loading correctly from the theme (checked in the network tab and viewed source)
- When the source is viewed, all of the publisher tabs and fields look like it is there.
- The languages show up in the listing.
- Adding a new tab to the layout gives me the new tab, and when I add the publisher field into the new tab, that tab disappears, and the publisher tab appears.
- There are no other plugins installed for this install.

I am stumped, but I think we might be looking at a bug? If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Publisher Language Control isn’t compatible with EE3 yet. If its somehow installed, try un-installing it.

No this is publisher 2, not language control. Sorry I ticked the wrong addon in my entry.

So you’re using custom layouts on the entry page? Delete the custom layout and so the entry page loads normally. What happens then?

Same thing. I did it without a custom layout, then added the custom layout to see if that would help. In either case, the layout briefly shows the publisher tab on page load, but then disappears from view.

Can you please provide the CP login so I can take a look. Also provide the channel name and the title of an entry I should go to to see this happen.

Wait a minute. The tab is supposed to do that. There isn’t supposed to be a tab. The Publisher toolbar is created in the tab, then moved outside of the tab above the form. It was the only way I could reliably put a toolbar on the page. So you’re saying the toolbar is not ever visible? I still think I need to see this happen myself in the CP.

Yeah, there isn’t anything to really draw your attention to it as I’m staying within the EE style guide.
