I’m starting to build out a front end system for working with channel entries in order to meet some specific needs for a project. I’ve built out the channel forms and am starting to add Publisher integration into those forms. One thing that I wasn’t clear about from the documentation is whether it’s possible to add in the ability to deny or approve of entries that have been submitted for approval. Is there a way to build that into a channel form, specifically where a publisher can deny an entry and add in a note about why that entry was denied in the same way they can in the control panel?

Publisher looks for a POST value of “send_approval”, so if you add a checkbox field to your form with that name it should trigger the approval process, but you’d have to build the ability to deny an approval, which is really just an email being sent to someone and it doesn’t take any other action on the entry.

Ah, got it. That helps a great deal. I was testing out ways to deny the approval, but I missed the fact that all it really does is send an email without modifying the entry, so that will make a big difference.
