Ticket: Internet Explorer does not remember selected language

Feb 23, 2017Hi,
I’m using a straight forward implementation of the language switch tag:
{exp:publisher:languages}
<li><a href="{switch_language_url}" {if is_active=="1"}class="active"{/if}>{short_name}</a></li>
{/exp:publisher:languages}
Switching languages works on all browser except Internet explorer. It seems that the exp_publisher_site_language cookie holding the language doesn’t get set on Internet Explorer. Are there any know issues with Internet Explorer forgetting the selected language?
Thanks,
Thomas

Hi, Thomas. Have you tested it it other browsers? I’ve never had an issue with a browser specific thing like this before.
There is a couple of bugs regarding language switching, but they are browser agnostic. Are you switching between Pages or Structure urls, or template-group/template based urls?

Followup, it looks like you’re using Publisher 1, which has no known language switching bugs, and hasn’t had one for some time now. I was referring to a bug in Publisher 2.

Also, you’re using an old version of Publisher. The latest is 1.7.4. You’d have to upgrade before I can assist with this b/c its likely that you could be seeing an old bug.

Closing b/c this is reported on a very old version of Publisher. If this is still an issue after upgrading to 1.7.4 please feel free to open a new ticket. Thanks.
